KEYHOLDER using a JOURNALLING BLOCK

Hellooooo, its Karen here today!  I was sent one of the  JOURNALLING BLOCKS to play with and tbh was a bit bewildered as to what I was going to do with it but I found that these are really handy things to have.  You can use these for all sorts!!!  I have used mine to mount chippie letters on this time.

In this case I have just painted it & added a light coat of crackle paint.  I used a 5x7 canvas so that gives you an idea of the size.  They come in handy packs of 4 too...small, medium & large.  I used the MEDIIUM one...

Thank you for looking today & do keep popping back as we have new goodies to show you most days!!!  HUGS XXXX

Journalling block

These new journalling blocks are FAB for the latest art trends...and, of course, for journalling! not being a scrapper I tend to find other uses for these gorgeous items....

Here is another one of my latest trend pieces:-

the base was painted with acryllic paint and then stamped and then spritzed with glimmer mist. A corner rub on was added and a colourful grungepaper flower. The fragment in the middle has been coloured with AI's and then a stamped image added - a grungepaper butterfly with bling and pins finish it off!

Do take a look at the range of journalling blocks they are all really versatile...and would be a great addition to any project.

Snowfkake tree topper

I have a tatty old star that gets wired on top of my Christmas tree every year and I've been meaning to replace it for ages! I decided this 3D snowflake would be the perfect thing for the job.

At approx 95mm x 95mm it's a good size for a tree topper. It would also make a great hanging decration and there are two other styles available so you could ring the changes, too!

I painted mine with Precious Metal paint in Mother of Pearl and because the intricate shape is pretty enough, I kept the embellishment fairly simple with just a few pearls, gems and micro beads. The board is thick enough to push pins into to finish off the tips of the flake and accomodate a coiled wire to slot over the top of the tree.

Full details of colours and materials are in {this post} on my blog if anyone would like them - thanks for stopping by!

Well Done card using Leaf Branch

I've made this card using the smaller of the two ~{leaf branch with 6 leaves}~ which is the perfect size for a 14cm x 14cm card blank.
The leaf has been painted with acrylic paint, then doodled when dry. I've finished it off with a double layer of clear UTEE. Quick and simple from me today!

Art journal cover

My art journal cover is an example how a chipboard shape can add an interest to any altered book cover.
I think the technique I used here is pretty unknown- for me at least.
This Tando creative chipboard corner was covered with clear crackle paint here and there only, after it was dry I sponged some Forest moss distress ink all over the piece and the crackled areas acted as resist - so now we got some bare crackled areas and some green inked ones.
Then I did another clear crackled paint layer all over the chipboard and the previous resist areas became slightly colored with some light green shade. I think the effect is intresting and new.. Then some white pearls were added for this vintage look of painted corner.
All other pieces were not a chipboard ones- but all of them were inked, stamped, glittered, covered with 3d glue and the " couple" piece is my own stamping on polymer clay covered with Pearl Ex powder.

Create art collage artboard

My craft room walls looked too empty- so I decided to create some art project to decorate them a bit and this Create art piece was born during one sleepless night on mine.
I tried to make it as a faux printers tray using 12" x 12'' chipboard piece and anything you can ever imagine on it.
My focal point , other than a title, is this Tando creative bird cage covered with Brilliance ink, heat embossed with clear embossing powder and glittered with clear stickle glue.
I thought about art as a thing that let us be free- so I added this " free" ticket into a cage- and the bird is on the other corner..

Dressing up bare chipboards tutorial

A few day ago I posted a tutorial about some not so usual ways of bare chipboards painting
and " topping". This tutorial was made for Ideas for scrapbookers blog and I used some Tando Creative chipboards for examples. You can read a full tutorial here and as you can see the chipboards can be " dressed up" in so many unique ways - the sky is the limit.
I used this cartoon chick with acrylic paints and small beads and the anchor chipboard with acrylic paint and sea sand.
So read the link and try it too- it's a great fun!!

secret places...

Hi, its Carol here again!!

In my initial pack of Tando goodies I received this tree - must admit that lots of ideas sprung to mind but in the end I decided to create a secret garden to go run away too...

the tree was painted with black acryllic and then hi-lighted using different colours of inka gold - images stamped onto patterned paper were then added to the tree....a tissue paper flower, a bumble bee charm and grungepaper butterfly finish it all off...

The stand is from one of my frames - makes an excellent show piece when photographing!

It's Kaz again and this time I've been lucky enough to be playing with this gorgeous ~{3D Christmas Tree}~. It would make an amazing centrepiece on the dining table on Christmas Day, but I'm going to be using this as a decoration.

As the tree itself is so detailed, I wanted to keep the decoration of it simple and have used Viva Decor Precious Metal Paint in Lilac. I've painted it all over, including all the edges of the swirls, twice to give a lovely smooth finish. It is a bit time consuming, but it deserves the best! I've attached a snowflake onto each side of the star at the top. At first I was going to tie a button and ribbon through so I'd punched a hole using the crop-o-dile, but changed my mind and the centre of the snowflake is open so you can see through it, which I like.

I've added a single 'Nail head' to the end of each swirl to give it a little detail there.

Stamping away at more storage............

We have put the finishing touches to our latest storage solution.....unmounted rubber stamp storage.  I have loads of rubber stamps still in their original packaging, which is great, but they are so difficult to store and I simply forget what I have.

The units are available in 2 sizes and come complete with 10 sets of cold laminating pouches and PVC pockets.  You simply stamp your images onto some card, encapsulate it in the cold laminating pouch (no machine required), attach you unmounted stamps and pop it in the PVC pocket.

As we have also provided some greyboard subject dividers you can easily sort them by manufacturer or type...whatever takes you fancy.

All the accessories are available separately.....and if you prefer to store your pockets in a binder rather than a box they come with a really handy binding margin too.

You'll see in the photos that I have used some chunky letters for the word STAMPS.....these have been cut from 6mm MDF and are available to buy too.

More details can be found on the website HERE......they are showing as out of stock at the moment whilst we wait on a delivery but just email me or click the product notification and you will be emailed as soon as they are available to order.

Christmas is coming.............

I blogged this briefly on my personal blog yesterday but here it is again LOL.

This is the latest design I have put together, it took a few days to work out all the angles but I got there in the end.  It is constructed from 2250micron greyboard and is designed to just simply slot together.  The drawers are cut and scored in a thinner, more flexible board but it is still capable of taking some Eco Green paint and Viva Decor Croco.

On to the dimensions....it stands approximately 265mm tall (excluding the star on the top).  The largest drawer is 80mm deep x 70mm wide at the widest points, the middle drawer is 65mm deep x 53mm wide and the smallest is 48mm deep x 40mm wide.

The top lifts off to reveal the hiding place of the final gift.

A tutorial for this can be found HERE.

They will be available in stockists soon.

Round Revolving Storage

It's Kaz back again with another of the lovely ~{Revolving Storage Units}~. I went for 3 layers on mine so I can get as much on my desktop as possible!! Seriously though, it is important for me to not have to keep getting up and down when I craft so this is ideal as I've fitted lots of bits onto it.

I have decorated it in a similar way to the ~{Revolving Inkpad Storage}~ that I blogged before.

This time though, I thought I'd try and spray paint it for speed, but I discovered that I'm not good with a can and didn't like the finish on it, so I ended up giving it a coat of Gesso afterwards. After that I sanded it gently to give it a smooth surface ready for stamping, which was done with Stazon Inks.

I have tidied up the edges by painting with black acrylic paint and then doodled a little flower design down the sides.

As you can see by the next two photos, I have got plenty on it, especially the essentials that I use all the time.

Again I did a big spin test to make sure nothing flew off!!

I thought I'd finish with a photo of my desk showing how both units sit on the top, full of goodies, but still leaving me lots of space to work with. If only my desk stayed this tidy once I get going!!
